Description:
Devi Foundation Trust was registered on 23 January 2021 — and within months, India was in the grip of the COVID-19 second wave. Rather than waiting to build institutional capacity first, the Trust acted immediately, donating pulse oximeters to the Gorakhpur District Administration to help frontline workers monitor patients during the oxygen crisis.

That early response led to something more lasting: the Trust coordinated with private companies to install a PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) Oxygen Plant at Gola Bazar Community Health Centre, Gorakhpur. This medical-grade facility continues to serve thousands of patients annually — long after the pandemic emergency passed, quietly strengthening the district’s healthcare infrastructure.

This project set the tone for everything that followed. In 2022, the Trust renovated a heritage water body in Village Barwal Digar in partnership with the District Administration. By 2023, fortnightly free health camps had formally commenced across rural Gorakhpur.

Each of these efforts shares the same underlying instinct that defined the Trust’s 2021 response — identify a real, urgent gap, and act on it directly, in partnership with institutions already on the ground.
